I'd like to create a few users with a simple password (ex:user1/pwd, user2/pwd...) for test purposes, and then get a basic authentication prompt when connecting to the app. I got that working locally using TOMCAT, but I haven't find a doc on how to create users in Heroku (eqv to tomcat-user.xml).
Can you guys send me a pointer?

I'm not familiar with using a
tomcat-user.xml file, but what happens when you bundle the file with your app and deploy to Heroku? It should be able to read the file from the filesystem?

I'm actually battling with this. I found that there is an option in webapp runner to now specify the location of the file (default is next to the procfile), but I don't know how to upload such a file. I used --expand-war to reference the file into /WEB-INF, but can get the war expanded when I look at it from the console. Still experimenting. This is not obvious when you come with a J2EE background.
