I am following the tutorial for publishing a simple django website. I downloaded and installed the heroku toolbelt on my windows machine. The install worked without any errors but when I type in foreman at the command prompt it says "command not found". However, when I type "heroku" at the command prompt it works. I have seen some other posts about foreman not playing well with windows. Has anyone had any success with these tutorials working for windows? I have spent many hours now trying to get these tutorials to work. I'm afraid that if the tutorials are so hard what is publishing a full blown web application going to look like.

If you are having difficulty with Foreman on Windows, you might see about trying Forego. It's by the same author as Foreman but written in Go. @ddollar provides download links for pre-compiled Windows versions in the GitHub README. I've been running it for a few weeks with out any issues.
Everywhere that you would run
foreman start or
foreman run etc., you can run
forego start and
forego run instead.
All that being said, I'm not sure if Foreman is supposed to work in Windows. It may be that you have found a bug in the toolbelt. Someone else will have to confirm/deny.
